Hi-So Food, Bangkok

9 Nov 2018

Learned this term from Nat—"hi-so," which means high society and it refers to things related to those filthy rich people, ha!

Nat has directed me to wait for her at the supermarket in EmQuartier, one of those hi-so shopping centers right next to Phrom Phong skytrain station. And mind you, it's not just a supermarket. It's called "Gourmet Market."

I was truly overwhelmed... that's all I can say.

Ishigama Sourdough Buns

The buns have just a very faint fragrance of sourdough, super soft. I bought a walnut raisin loaf. Four slices for 75 baht. The raisins tasted more fermented than the bread with a sparkling sensation.

Cheesecake by Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory. That one tiny triangular piece of cheesecake costs 179 baht!

10 pieces of those cheese biscuits costs 450 baht!!!

100% vegan cakes by Veganerie Bakery.

We ended the night with coconut ice cream, a popular cold dessert that one can find everywhere—food courts, restaurants, markets, etc.
